His Holines Pema Norbu Rinpoche has appointed a health official to take charge of the medical needs in the locality. He has also taken steps to stop the spread of contagious diseases. Every morning all students of the Institute take turn to clean the compound and maintain general tidiness. At the end of every month, the main temple (Golden Temple), assembly hall and other temples are cleaned by the classes of the Institute in turns. Starting from mid-Saturday through Sunday evening, students wash their clothes and clean their rooms. Sometimes, they paint their rooms or plant new flowers in the Institute garden. Maintaining cleanliness in and around the monastery is always a priority. The appointed institute cooks clean up the kitchens and surrounding areas. Only vegetarian food is served in the Institute kitchen.
