Khedrub Karma Tashi was born in the year 1728 as the grandson of the great vidyadhara Rigzin Kunzang Sherab in the village named Ahchog. When he was still in the womb, his mother fell down from a fearful precipice but he uttered, “I am not hurt, Om Mani Padme Hung.” As a child he awakened his intrinsic noble propensities. He then, received novice vows as well as the teachings of the Kama and Terma lineage including all the instructions of maturation and liberation of the Palyul lineage from the Drubwang Pema Norbu. He became the only heart son of Drubwang Pema Norbu and was enthroned on the great vidyadhara seat. He was fully ordained from Situ Choki Jungney and he established the Chuwa Drim Chan and Go Dag Jar Chan meditation centres at Palyul with the intention of upholding the experiential teachings through meditation. For the first time, the teachings of the Heart Essence of the Great Perfection flourished extensively in the land of Palyul and many lineage holders such as Khedrub Karma Lhawang and other son-like disciples appeared successively. Finally, in the year 1790 at the age of 63, his wisdom mind dissolved into the dharmadhatu.
